FACH, Theodore W. - (photographer) ; [Photography] : [Missouriana] : Hermann, Missouri: [ca. 1880's] : Single albumen print photograph on card, approximately 8" x 5" (20cm x 13cm). Ink stamp to verso: "THEODORE W. FACH / AMATEUR PHOTOGRAPHER / ST. LOUIS, MO.." Pencil notation above stamp: "Hermann, Mo." Near fine.

An evocative view of Hermann, Missouri, ca-1880's (given card and print qualities), a German-settlement first founded in the 1830's. Card with verso stamping of "Amateur Photographer" Theodore W. Fach. Census records indicate Fach was born in about 1875 in St. Louis to Charles Fach, who made a fortune in wholesale hardware sales in the burgeoning West and built a Weber and Grove designed Neo-Classical mansion at 32 Portland Place (Theodore's childhood home).
