An exceptionally bright and sharp copy of the second Patience Worth novel. A curious figure and early 20th Century publishing phenomenon, Worth was purportedly a spirit who channeled her writings one-letter-at-a-time through the Ouija board of a St. Louis woman named Pearl Curran. A title uncommon to find in this first state and scarce in like condition.

First edition with "Published May, 1918" to copyright page. Blue cloth over boards with gilt title decoration to front, spine. Lacking dust jacket. A trace bit of dulling to spine gilt, otherwise near fine.
