A lovely herbarium of native wildflowers collected by an Elena Lindsey of Sidney, Shelby County, Ohio in 1912. Lindsey included detailed notes on when and where she acquired the plants and named locations include Vandemark's Woods ; Potts' Woods ; and Children's Home Woods. 

Named species include: Butter Cup ; Wood Anemone ; Rue Anemone ; Spur Violet ; Wild Geranium ; Purple Violet ; Trillium ; Hepatica ; Yellow Violet ; Dandelion ; Solomon’s Seal ; Jack-in Pulpit ; Sweet William ; White Adder’s Tongue ; Dutchman’s Breeches ; Dog’s Tooth Violet ; Drooping Trillium ; Spring Beauty ; Wild Strawberry ; White Trillium ; Shepherd’s Purse ; Marsh Marigold ; Squirrel Corn ; White Violet ; and Blue Bells.

Marbled card boards with black 1/4 cloth over spine. Paper label mounted to front with ink ownership inscription. Black binding string through spine. Boards holding 25 loose card leaves with manuscript writing to printed blanks below the heading of "Sidney High School" to versos ; plant specimens with additional writing tape mounted to rectos. All card leaves loose in album. Some loose or infrequently perished portions of plants. Overall about very good.
